Colonel Saroj Khanal (Retired), HR manager, graduated from Nepal Army Military Academy and subsequently completed “Command & Staff College” from Nepal Army Command and Staff College. He served in the Nepal Army for 27 years in various capacities, as Platoon, Company and Battalion Commander as well as in Brigades, Divisions and the Army Headquarter as staff/operation officer.
Col. Khanal(retd.) has participated in and conducted wide range of training within the country and internationally as well. He conducted Armed Police Forces conversion training at “Armed Police Force Dantakali Brigade” Pakali, Sunsari as the chief instructor. Participated in three different United Nations Missions as Peacekeeper in (UNPROFOR) former Yugoslavia, Military Observer in UNAMSIL- Sierra Leone and Mission Headquarter Staff in MONUSCO-Democratic Republic of Congo.
After Retirement Mr. Khanal worked at Plan International Nepal for five years as Security Advisor and completed all the modules of HEAT (Hostile Environment Awareness Training) and HEAT-Training of the Trainer in Bangkok, Thailand. During the tenure with Plan International Nepal, he acted as a Safety & Security coordinator for Association of International NGO’s (AIN) and facilitated three different “Personal Safety and Security Training” for AIN member staffs as training coordinator and facilitator. His vast experience and security knowledge are advantageous to DSS.
